Concrete Cutting

As the concrete starts to set (hardens up) there is a reaction to the state of the concrete that requires urgent attention. With evaporation of moisture out of the concrete, causes it to shrink and form unnecessary cracking.

We recommend inducing early expansion soffcuts to reduce visual effects of cracking.

WHY? The reason to induce expansion cuts is to apply a controlled weak point into the finish concrete surface so it can relieve the stress from shrinkage and direct the cracking to these cuts rather then other parts of the finished product.

BCP also has a groundsaw machine which can cut to maximum depth of 150mm. We can attach any width blade ranging from 3mm wide blade up to 30mm wide blade. Wider blades are used for decorative cuts which can be grouted to prevent weeds growing inside the cuts and to give a tiled or paver styled look.

Other equipment we carry a portable handsaw which can cut to a maximum of 150mm deep and being a handsaw we can make precise cuts in the tightest of areas which is deemed to be safe. We can trim off any unnecessary concrete on panels, foundations, pathways and floors just to name a few areas.
